Starbucks in Switzerland ;)
Hallo! Ich bin Chloe. Thanks to my dad's awesomeness and his relationships with families all over the world, I received the chance to spend a year with the Zimmermann family in a small but very beautiful town called Shwändi in Switzerland! I have now been here for 5 days and I LOVE IT! My host family couldn't be more perfect! They are extremely nice people. The parents are Christoph and Barbara. They have two amazing daughters. Sophie is 15 and Klara is 17. I am 16 so this is perfect! I can relate so much to Klara and Sophie. We all love music, art and especially, spending a year in a different country. Klara just spent a year in Chicago. And Sophie will spend a year in Belgium starting in the fall. I really have an appreciation for anyone that is willing to live in a whole new country as an exchange student.

My Swiss Family!!
I was terrified before I came here. I was so excited until suddenly, about 3 weeks before the departure the fears set in! I can't speak any german! Will I make a fool out of myself? Am I going to die of home sickness? Will my swiss family be discusted by my american habits? Do I have american habits? What if I don't like swiss cheese?!?! Now that I am here, I do not understand why I had those fears. I am having the time of my life! And the cheese is AMAZING!

I have been doing so many things in this past week. The day after I got here. I went with Barbara and Sophie to Bern. Bern is a beautiful city. There, we ran in the Frauenlauf. The Frauenlauf is a 5 k only for woman. And it was not one of the things that I was looking forward to because I strongly dislike running. But I did it! I feel awesome yet very sore. :)

Then, on tuesday I went to school with the girls. It was awesome! It was very different from school in America. The schedule is different. It is much smaller. People take gym class seriously and you do not have to wear a stupid gym uniform. You can wear what ever your heart desires! :)
This is Flori! My dog here in Switzerland!

Barbara is a kindergarden teacher so one day I went with her and had an amazing time. It was actually a great experience for me to learn german. This little girl took me all around the room and taught me the words of everything that she pointed to. She was the best teacher that I have ever had! :)

This is me and Barbara's Kindergarden students.
